Each one of my works is an immersion into a journey that creates the painting. Every piece represents a unique experience of the exploration of the subject, the medium I am using, and the music I am listening to, all capturing the world I feel. Joy, sorrow, anger, serenity, beauty and darkness live side by side in every work.
Each piece represents the interplay of shapes, mass, color and light. The abstract works using chalk pastel on paper are the result of the super-imposition of active poses of the model and the exploration of the resulting shapes. I use oil and acrylic for less active poses. The luminosity of water soluble crayons on glossy paper is another way I explore color and shape. This is a challenging process but I think it is worth the effort.
Painting for me brings about a state of both, intensity and meditation. It is a different state of consciousness that we often lose touch with. I hope to express it in my works.
